For Doctors . . .

Treatment Philosophy

Having practiced for a half dozen years as a general dentist prior to the three year specialty residency, I'm aware of the academic, artistic, social and economic demands placed upon the profession. These can be met only by committing oneself to one's profession and putting the needs of your patient first. Our office is a professional, yet fun, environment because everyone loves our work.

The field of periodontology has changed more in the last 10 years than the 30 years preceding it. Dentistry itself has become much more complex in recent years, as new materials, techniques, computers and even lasers enter, and sometimes leave, the treatment arena. These truly are marvelous times, but require both focus and willingness to adopt new strategies. I embrace both classical periodontological techniques, as well as newer treatment methodologies, including dental implants, when indicated.

Having been trained at both U.C.S.F. and U.S.C., I feel fortunate to having been exposed to a range of different treatment modalities. Most importantly, both periodontics and implant dentistry are prosthetic services, and not a separate disclipline. We all realize that our patients want beautiful smiles, free of pain, infection or blemish.
