Background & Education

Dr. Mintzer graduated from U.C. Berkeley  in 1982 with double majors in Neurobiology and Psychology, and after organizing and teaching courses in the Department of Biophysics and Medical Physics, entered dental school at U.C. San Francisco in 1984. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and California dental license in 1988, as well as the Community and Preventative Health Award for the school that year. Dr. Mintzer practiced general dentistry for 6 years before entering the 3 year periodontal residency program at U.S.C., finishing the program in 1997. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at U.S.C. and maintains a private periodontal and implant practice in Santa Barbara, California, where he dedicates himself to providing a comfortable, modern and patient focused practice.
