Often a useful tooth doesn't erupt into the mouth and it must be guided by an orthodontist into the correct position. If it is impacted, or buried under the gums or bone it should be exposed so that a gold chain can be bonded to this tooth, followed by slow traction by the orthosontist into the correct position.
